Today, more than ever, the New Jersey
Foundation for the Blind (NJFFB) has an increasingly
visible and important role in the community. Recent
data released by the National Eye Institute reveals
that the number of blind adults will grow substantially
as the baby boomers age. In fact, one in four will have
a potentially blinding eye disease by the time he or
she reach his/her seventies. In 2030, there will be
twice as many blind people in America as there are today.
We are commited to reaching out to those who will need
specialized skills to lead independent lives. To that
end, the New Jersey Foundation for the Blind provides
programs and services that will help enable the blind
and visually impaired to live happy and productive lives.
The foundation, headquartered in Denville, NJ, offers
training and support in everything from household activities
to work-related tasks to social programs.
We continue to need and appreciate the services contributed
by all of our volunteers, and we thank the Lion's Club
for their support over the years. All are welcome to
visit our facility. Here, our students can effectively
learn to use the computer, prepare meals, and sew.
